On a field trip to Portland (Dorset), I ran a casting workshop with a bunch of artists. I carved a cup which the others made three part moulds of by pressing each side into reclaimed clay. We filled the cavities with a mix of Portland stone dust from the masons planers and white cement. The next morning the cups were excavated and filled with Dorset ale.
Using the same process, I made a table to exhibit a selection of the cups at the Menier Gallery in London Bridge.
