'Planning activities whose objective is a system.' Ezio Manzini

Foundry Street was once one of the most industrious roads in Brighton, The Regents Foundry was one of the largest employers and home to the first electricity plant in Brighton. At the corner of Foundry Street and Gloucester Road lies a small glass-blowing studio run by John King. King finds it hard to sell work and is often found in the middle of the day with a drink at the local pub unsurprisingly named, The Foundry.

An experiment was set up to re-direct a current production system, people having a drink at The Foundry were given blobs of modelling wax and asked to make a shot glass. Two-part moulds (similar to industrial glass manufacture) were cast in plaster and left by the fire to dry. John King took the moulds to his studio and blew glass into them. Each participant was bought a shot and drank from their glass.

Unfortunately the camera batteries ran out, there are no photos of the glasses in use.
